“When Congress passed the Clean Water Act in 1972—with an overwhelming bipartisan majority—it charted a new path for America’s waters. And as a result, we have seen transformational progress over the last 50 years and many communities are returning to their waters,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Water Radhika Fox. “Today, President Biden and Congress have created the next historic opportunity to strengthen our waters with the largest ever investment in water through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and EPA is working with its partners to maximize progress now and for the next 50 years.”
